Do not double the aperture, f2 is f2 is f2. Likewise the focal range does not change either. Only the field of view does. Because smaller sensors have a tighter field of view, 50mm FF lens would have field of view of 100mm on a 2 times crop sensor. But f1.8 would be the same even if the sensor was a 2/3" size, 4 times smaller then FF. Why? Because the lens provides the luminance exposure of f1.8 but since its designed for a larger full frame the image circle it provides that light has to fit the sensor, the glass has to be big enough hence crop sensor glass can be so small, a smaller image circle must be covered after all. The only thing that changes is the depth of field, but that is down to aperture diameter in the lens, crop sensor lenses have smaller aperture openings hence less bokeh whereas full frame lenses need a bigger aperture opening despite both lenses being f2.8, their aperture size are different which is what gives you the different depth of field.

Praise be to God for this wonderful video. Hoping to do this trail with my daughter this summer and you show both the highs and lows. Seems like way more highs!

Very inspiring and well made documentary. Dave will you so kind and share some of the bike details like brand, model, what air pressure you used the most on those tires, shoes and other equipment if possible. I would like to do some like that maybe not at big and hard like yours but I want to prepare myself as much as possible.

Incredible documentary that makes me want to ride this trail, Ive ridden some of the San Juan mtns (7 days) in Colorado, greatest ride of my life! This is a bucket item for me. I am also newly retired and was diagnosed with a brain tumor 2.5 years ago but have exceeded my life expectancy already. I'm a fit 63 year old and don.t have time on my side. Breaking the ride up was a great idea and would be more manageable for me. Dave, thanks for the inspiration!! Edward

My buddy Ryan Van Duzer is an incredible adventure cyclist as well, and I see he commented a couple of years ago about your beautiful trek on the CT. Your passion and journey to self-fulfillment at age 64 is truly inspiring. I will be 65 this summer when I take on the Trans Am and seeing your emotions and the beauty of your ride will be with me as I pedal east.
